Julia: Bio

Julia

Julia has always been driven. Her first recording was at age 2, when she sang a line in the Christmas song "Through The Eyes of a Child", written by her father, Jory Petiprin. She was a natural from the start.

In school, Julia always participated in musical and creative activities, learning to sing with a choir and perform on stage in theatre and dance. She also kept herself busy with swimming, track and tennis.

Home life was tough. As a child of a single mom raising four children, Julia had to fend for herself, and help her family. Moving constantly, it was hard to maintain friendships. Although there were financial problems, her mom was always loving and supportive. Julia was raised with good morals, which kept her strong through her family's hardships.

Julia always found strength in music. When she was 14, she was in a country girl group with three other girls. They played a few local gigs, but Julia saw that the band lacked direction, and left to pursue her own goals.

After high school, Julia got the opportunity to join the girl group "Karisma" in Chicago. At the audition for a popular dance reality TV show, a scout for the group picked Julia out of the crowd and asked her to audition. Within a few months, the group was asked to showcase for a label in New York. But, due to fighting and jealousy within the group, Julia once again set out on her own.

After singing more local gigs, she decided to head west to the opportunities one only finds in Hollywood.

Her drive paid off immediately, as she landed a recording contract with the up-and-coming indie label ViaSound Records.

Her debut EP, "Super Girl", is inspired by her journey from small town life to big city life and the glamour and trials of Hollywood.

Produced by Grant Grueninger, the EP is a powerful combination of guitar-driven rock infused with elements of orchestral music and film scoring.

Julia's music sends a positive message to inspire people of all ages. Here is a girl who proves herself by her instrument and in the songs she writes. Julia continuously works hard to be a great voice and a great musician.
